Although it is hard to believe, summer is quickly approaching! Summer is always full of much activity and this year will be no different. I want to take this opportunity to share a few summer plans with you. Listed below are the dates and locations of our camp and mission trip.

Mission trip to Midland, Texas
This mission trip will be centered around children’s ministry at an apartment complex. We will be helping an Apartment Ministry start up in the area.
June 26-July 3 (Saturday-Saturday)
Sign up began Wednesday, February 03, 2010; ends Sunday, March 7th. Deposit: $25 (due with Registration form by March 7th)
Total Cost: $125 (Any balance is due June 20.)
Must attend weekly meetings March 21 – June 20 (exceptions made for certain dates)
Student Life Camp at Baylor University in Waco

July 26-July 30 (Monday-Friday)
Speaker: Jeff Mangum
Worship Leader: Unhindered
Sign up begins Feb. 14; ends July 9 if as long as spots available.
Deposit: If you sign up by Sunday, March 28, you will receive a lower deposit of $50. Deposit after March 28 will be $100. (Deposit due with Registration Form)
Total Cost: $325 (Any balance is due July 9.)

Both of these events will be great times to grow closer to God and each other. Please make plans now to attend these events.

There aren't many pictures to share but we had a GREAT time on our girls shopping trip this month! Everyone got some great deals on Christmas gifts...and Olive Garden was a YUMMY pit-stop!! I enjoyed our time together girls!!

Every Thursday night, our High School group meets for LifeGroups...a time to gather for fellowship and Bible Study. We have been taking songs and dissecting them to see what they really say and find out what they really mean. Yesterday, we looked at Whispers in the Dark by Skillet. Below are the verses. I received a text message from Mike early this morning before they headed out to the work sites. He said they had a GREAT church group time last night and that God is working in the lives of our students! Praise be to God for the amazing things happening this week! Please continue to pray for the participants and the families that are being helped!

The World Changer team before they headed to Corpus!

I (Cymbre) was able to go to Corpus last night and help serve dinner for the group. The Grounded Student Ministries group was in good spirits and shared with excitement the duties they had during the day. Most of them worked on scraping paint to prepare houses to be painted in the days to come. Others got to work with a jackhammer!! Even with the early morning of their first day HOURS behind them, they seemed rested and excited! One group was able to witness a young girl of the family they are helping come to know Christ yesterday!! Her family is Jehovah Witness and I pray the family opens up this week and accepts Christ as well. Praise God for the committment that girl made!

Last night, we were challenged to figure out what our addiction is...what are we so addicted to that it gets in the way of our relationship with Christ??

Do not be mastered by anything or anyone other than our Heavenly Father.

What a great week we had at camp!

I apologize that I do not have pictures available yet. My camera went was dead the first day and I'm waiting on pictures from a few of the youth.

Last week was a great week--3 youth accepted Christ and 1 surrendered to the ministry! Many others felt God speaking to them about their lives and their walk with Him.

Praise God for the amazing things that happened at camp!

Please continue praying for those who attended camp. Although the week is over, God is still at work in their lives and now is the hard part...living out what they learned!

The World Changers mission team leaves Saturday for Corpus. Please pray for them as they participate in construction work and sharing God's love with the community of Corpus.

Of course, not every question will relate to you but it is a good starting point. Feel free to use only a portion of these, as well as add to them. A friend of mine shared this verse on her blog and I wanted to share it with you! We have been studying prayer and different things to include in our prayer during Roots...the first was Adoration...this starts with Praise the Lord, O my soul!! Praise Him for the benefits he provides!

We will be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts as our next fundraiser! Students are pre-selling until April 26. Doughnuts are available for pick up on Saturday, May 2 from 8-11. Read below for details!

· Only Original Glazed doughnuts will be available for purchase.
· Doughnuts are only available by the dozen. Each dozen is $7.00.
· Pre-ordered doughnuts will be available for pick up at the First Baptist Church CAC Saturday, May 2 from 8-11 a.m.
· Additional dozens may be purchased Saturday, May 2 from 8-11 at the corner of St. Mary’s and FM 351, near Chili’s.
· Why pre-order?? This guarantees you will receive doughnuts on May 2. All non pre-ordered will be first come, first serve.
· All pre-ordered dozens must be paid for in advance.
· If you are not able to pick up your doughnuts between 8-11, please make arrangements for someone to pick them up for you. Please specify on the order form who will be picking up your doughnuts. Any doughnuts not picked up by 11:00 a.m. will be donated to Sunday School classes.
Students:
· All money and forms are due by SUNDAY, APRIL 26 BY 8:00 P.M. NO EXCEPTIONS! If your forms and money are not turned in on time, your doughnuts will not be ordered and it will be your responsibility to return the money.

Student Life Conference

It feels like much longer than a month since our trip to the Student Life Conference in Houston! We took 9 youth to the conference to hear the words of Frances Chan and music of Kristian Stanfill. Many of them were challenged by the words Frances shared regarding Live Love.

Several of our girls were able to attend the It's a Girl Thing! Conference in Corpus Christi the end of February. The mission statement of the conference is "to encourage teenage girls to be virtuous young women in a world that doesn't always care about moral and ethical standards." I love their mission statement and hope the girls had a great time!

Several of them were able to get a picture with Ayeisha Woods whose voice and songs blessed them during the weekend.
